I Desired to be Fire
In the early days,
I yearned to be water.
Unambiguously existing
To satiate your ravenous mind
And to quench your parched soul.
But nowadays,
All I desire is to be fire,
To scorch your smooth skin,
Forever leave my mark
Interred in your mind,
Body and soul.
In that way,
Even if we’re faraway
You’ll fondly reminisce of
Our shared moments
In lieu of being
Lackadaisical, blasé,
Disremembering everything
Akin to becoming a blank slate.
